KTM has reported that the Austrian Company sold a record number of motorcycles in 2013. The company sold 123859 motorcycles in 2013, the highest ever recorded by the Austrian Manufacturer.

KTM reports that 123,859 motorcycles were sold worldwide, including motorcycles sold in India by partner Bajaj. This shows a 15.6-percent increase in sales over 2012. KTM attributes much of the success to the new 1190 Adventure and the 390 Duke. KTM also increased its employees by 147 in 2013 for a total of 1,849 employed. And KTM has 75 apprentices employed.
For the business year 2014, investments of approximately EUR 68 million are planned, exceeding the investments of business year 2013 by EUR 10 million. The main focus of the investments is on new development projects and on expansion of buildings and capacity, KMT reports. At the headquarters in Mattighofen, an increase in production capacity to more than 100,000 units is planned.
KTM expects further increases in sales and turnover for the business year 2014. Consequently, there will be a further increase in market shares, KTM says.
