Hello,
My activa was running fine and is used for about 4-5 kms a day, probably nil on weekends.
I had an issue where there was a knock sound everytime the activa would pass through a puddle or dent in the road. I assumed it was a shock issue. Additionally the kicker was a little hard.
I took it to a mechanic who came with great recommendation. He serviced the vehicle normal tune up, fixed the shock oil change, brake lining, and he said he had serviced the kicker (wasnt sure what he did) and charged me 2500/- and said everything else was great with the bike.
Post this, the vehicle was fine (but made a noise when using the electric start, mechanic told me this would be there. A sound as though you threw few coins on the floor something like that :P )
A couple of days later, I ran into issues. The Activa would absolutely refuse to start, I could kick for an hour and it would still not start. And out of the blue the next day, the bike would start and work absolutely fine as though nothing happened. Another issue was that I would be riding the bike and it would just shut itself off and would refuse to start no matter what I did. This happened about 3-4 times and I called the mechanic.
The mechanic arrived and the bike started fine, I told him to use it for a couple of days and give it to after thoroughly checking it. He checked it for a couple of days, came back and said everything was fine and there were no other issues.
The bike worked for a week and the same issue started again, it would turn off and refuse to start. It would work fine one day and the next day, it would not start at all. I called him again, this time, he wasn't able to start it either, so he checked it for a couple of days and now comes back to me and says there are issues with the Compressor and the head (?). He said he needs to get the motor winding done and after which the issue should not appear. He's replaced 2 out of the 4 coils and it still does not seem to receive power. Now it's at a point where it does not start at all.
For some reason I lost trust in him, because I did not have the issues prior to service. Any thoughts on what could be the issue ? because I'm worried that I will start spending a lot of money in fixing this and keep spending with no end.
Also, the compressor motor could cause issues with the starting, but still does not explain how the bike loses power and turns off. I would really appreciate some help in this issue because the person who recommended the mechanic said he is a very genuine person and is very talented, while I have mixed feelings.
Thanks !
