Hi from a Calcuttan

Hi There

Call me Calcuttan or perhaps Old Calcuttan for I have just crossed 50. But I thought I should live once again. So here I am. I have set myself this ambition to go to Leh/Ladakh sometime soon on a bike (caveat - when an old man says soon, he generally means within 2 years). Perhaps solo.

As a daily commute and for highway outings I drive a Duster. As a weekend ride I have a Bullet (the original in every sense). But for going to Leh/Ladakh I am looking at something more modern and dependable. Perhaps a Duke? But 390 or 200? Or shall I go for a Pulsar because wifey might want to go for a spin once in a while on the pillion and may not like the closeness offered by a Duke after 18 years of marriage.

I need to know what my options are. Because I am out of the biking loop for a long time and I feel like a fossil when I read some of the ownership reports. I am not the kind of person who reads about Harleys and BMWs but rides a Hero Honda SS. I am rooted to the realities of life.

Feel free to advice me. I love to listen to every one but do my own thing ;-)
