Hello Guys!
I am a regular reader of this forum and I decided to sign up today because I need suggestions now. Hope you would help :)

Six months back, I bought a Hero Glamour Disk variant (carb model). The problem is with mileage. It gave me 52kmpl before 1st service. Then it came at 56kmpl average in both city and long. But the bike felt rough now. The exhaust note was very high and it felt like I was taking its life when the speedo reached 60. So I got it tuned again and now the mileage came down to 43kmpl with reduced sound. 43kmpl was too low for a 125cc especially when I maintained the speed between 40-50! So finally another mechanic kept the fuel screw at 1 n half turns and that gave me 70kmpl ( without gear shifts and clutch and at 40kmph). But I soon realized that it was too lean. Overtaking was a mess now! The bike felt underpowered and seemed to decelerate after 80kmph and felt like there was no fuel left. So the mechanic kept it at 1 and 3/4th of a turn and the bike was pretty much responsive now. But I was shocked to see the mileage now…it was 35kmpl and at most went to 44kmpl in city. I normally drive in 3rd or 4th even in city. That is not expected from a 9bhp 125cc!

My 2nd service is completed and guys at Hero haven’t been able to correct the mileage and they blame fuel pumps and riding style. I know the petrol nowadays is adulterated after the slashed prices and many pump owners do not give proper amount. But even at that the mileage should not be this low! I can’t make it further lean as it starts heating problem then.

I have been using Hero 4T 10W30 and have done 1300km since last oil change. Bike has 4000km approx on the odo. Hero Honda to Hero is a big downfall guys :( Even the acceleration is slower on my Glamour when compared to my friend’s Hero Honda Glamour. The tires are of TVS and I have had near death experiences with them. You won’t believe my bike skid at 25kmph! The engine feels very rough at times and you can feel high exhaust sound besides vibes near thighs. Thankfully, the handlebar is free of vibrations. Suggest me what to do? I mostly keep my bike within 40-50 and occasionally at 60…beyond that it feels like I am squeezing the life out of the engine!

I love my bike as much as I do love myself. Guys you know it feels very bad. I am thinking of selling off this bike now. At just 6 months and 4000kms it should fetch some price? It still looks new. Besides suggesting me on this one, will you please tell me how is Pulsar 135LS in terms of mileage and speed in real world? I mean, I have read almost all the reviews on the Internet but I want to personally ask its users who have completed at least 3000kms on the bike. And better if those who bought it in 2010 can tell me how is their bike now because I have heard that Bajaj bikes don’t last. How serious is the vibration? What about the gearbox? Many have complained that the bike is a ‘failure model’ and blah blah and at the same times the bike got so many awards! I am confused because this time I can’t risk all that money on any crap if I at all buy a new bike! I am a college student and I need looks+mileage+performance at an affordable price with quality assurance.

Do not suggest Shine. It looks real boring.
Do not suggest Stunner as I’ve heard it starts vibes after 60 + has a hard time reaching 100!

Thank you in advance :)
