Your ever so friendly RTO in Bangalore has deigned to grant, this middle aged foreigner, leave to strap a very large engine to his crotch and play "go-fetch" in local traffic. Many of my friends back home, spoilt rotten with their "infrastructure", "orderly traffic" and so called "rules of the road" cringe with fear at the notion of oneself learning (not just riding) in India. But I laugh in their face!! HA.. ad nauseam ad infinitum...

The fact that I've learnt how to ride a motorcycle, not just in India but at all is no small feat. Granted the biggest hurdle was convincing "she who must be obeyed" (wife) as well as my ex-"she who must be obeyed" (mother).
Sorry.. get to the point you ask? Right. I've seen the 15 million posts of comparisons between the CBR250 and Duke 390s for those of us who's budgets settle around the 2.5L mark so I'll not ask it here. My question is, SURELY there is more choice to those who want to ride something with a little more grunt than the multitude of pulsars. Now granted I've started with a P135LS so I'm no stranger to the contribution of Mr Bajaj's product so no disparity intended.
For someone who wants to spend about 2.5L, what are my options for an all rounder? Something I can use as a commuter but also transport the wife for the odd vada-pav in Frazer town to a full blown breakfast at the Infanteria?
