The bike will be imported as CBU from Thailand where it sells for around 375000 Thai Baht (in Thailand) or around Rs 6.75 lac in our local currency. The bike was launched at a press conference held in the capital today where a new Exclusive Authorized Kawasaki Showroom (managed by Bagga Link) was thrown open to public as well, being located at Vasant Vihar, New Delhi.
Speaking at the Conference, Yuji Horiuchi, Managing Director – India Kawasaki Motors, said
Many people have been involved with this Z800 introduction project. We would first, thank our partner Bajaj Auto for the incessant support in setting up this business. And also we thank customers who have supported our brand from various aspects. Z 800 is a naked sports bike that is highly popular in the European Market. The aggressive appearance of the front face and the sharp design of body parts make for a style that creates an impact.
In India, the bike will be imported as completely built units (CBU) from Thailand and will be retailed through the standalone showroom of Kawasaki in Pune (second being in Delhi) alongwith the newly established showroom in Delhi. The bikes will be priced at Rs.7,90,000 (ex Showroom in Pune) and Rs.8,05,000 (ex-showroom In Delhi) as the introductory price”, said Prem Bagga, Managing Director – Bagga Link
“In the coming future Superbikes industry in India is poised to grow at a rapid pace just like the luxury lifestyle market and our joint presence with Kawasaki will further strengthen our sales in this segment”, said Gaurav Bagga, Joint MD, Bagga Link, Delhi.
