[Photo Feature]: Full of miracles in a Day at Bangalore during Flickr Rides on 21st Dec'13

Well, after a fine breakfast and briefing about the rides, rules and regulations the flag off at 8:30 am. You know 10 themes 10 photographs in Mobile in Bangalore and finally at 5 pm we have to reach the hotel to submit the photographs. I was not having any idea where to start and what to capture.








Sunil Gupta, Content developer and Manager at xBhp joined with me as a pillion to shoot the events as a finalist how we (I and others) are shooting on the road. I a half km from the hotel I saw a park and decided to do plan first before starting the roam in the City of Garden. I took 25 minutes to plan the route and places to get the photos on theme based. Time was 9:00 am.

First I have called my friend who works in BEML and his office is at Town hall Circle. I thought of taking a wide view of Bangalore from the top of the BEML corporate office top and no one will get access to go to that top terrace and so got special permission with the help of my friend. And on the road the town hall circle traffic would give a nice output for transport theme.







Next I have headed to the next location to shoot for market place theme. It was K R market and from the top of the Bala Gangadhara Swamy Flyover. My biker friend Mr. Jay Ganesh Raja called me to suggest the locations in Bangalore.






The Tipu Sultan’s summer palace would be the right place and nearest place from KR market to shoot for Historical place. From here the Miracle has started to get in to the mobile photographs. Yes I have realized the miracle in each and every photograph. On the way to Palace just noticed a Bull cart which gave an idea for Transport theme that to the transport is pollution free, cost effective and eco-friendly and I have traveled many kilometer in Bull cart in childhood. It will be so fun to travel on the bull cart. Inside the palace it was so dark to and taking photograph in the mobile is quite difficult. Just looked around for right composition and tried few shots and suddenly I got a view where I can do good and got an idea to add human element as well. So I requested Sunil to give a pose for the photograph and here is the below picture of the Historical place.

An while coming out form the palace I have realized that I have to do more photographs still and I saw a twin sisters was drinking tender coconut and got permission to her Mother to take photographs. The first sign of Angle and miracle showed up with while dressed angles with full of smile.












On the way to Rajarajeswari temple I have noticed a temple were people doing pooja for Lord Ayappa. Then just spent some time with them and got some photographs and again at out the temple few children were playing and I asked them to give a pose as a group and the good is then know Tamil that is my mother language so it become easy for me to crack jokes to then and made them laugh so I got some smiley pictures of the children. I felt like I got some god’s gift that I made children to laugh and that was another miracle incident. Here I would say people so interesting if you see them as interesting. If you thing people won’t be normal then of course you won’t be normal to them at first and vice versa happens.







After that I have headed to Rajarajeswari nagar to shoot the Religious place theme in Raja Rajeswari temple. It was quite interesting to visit the temple for the first time so I am not sure how the temple would be but I believed that sure I will get a good photograph for the theme. Just got in and I was looking for the angle and at first I got disappointed since I couldn’t find any angle to choose and at the end saw a view where I can frame sun and temple top with the rays coming in to the temple which can give good composition and again miracle happened that when I just clicked the capture button the temple’s bell rang and the birds started to fly from the top of the temple which gave a miracle moment to the picture. And that moment was my great experience in mobile photography. From there Sunil wants to reach the hotel to precede his work for evening meet. So it’s time to go back to the city to drop Sunil at the hotel. Again I am in the middle of the city and again wondering where to go and what to do.





At that point of time I was done with 4 themes and it was 2 p.m. though of having some food quickly and suddenly got a call from my friend Ganesh and he said he is near M.G road and so it made easy for me to meet him and had a burger in McDonald. I was explaining the contest to my friend at that time a Punjabi guy came in to the McDonald at the same time my friend had a paper bag which has some social massage in it. So, I got an idea: approached and requested him to give a pose for Portrait and he has accepted with full of smile in his face. Then what? My portrait photography was ready with social message.
“Be Smart, Be Modern… Use Paper Bags… ”





Then I have decided to do a Motorcycle theme. So I and my friend Ganesh and Satheez were looking for good location to shoot biking photography and again miracle. I have just observed a modified R15 racing bike on the road and without any hesitation I have started chasing him and got him in the signal and requested him to give pose for biking photography. He said YES… J then we choose Cubbon Park to shoot but it didn’t work then the racer friend suggested a road where he can do a good cornering with the bike then I said ok and followed him to take that cornering pic. After reaching there I have fixed the position to shoot the angle of the cornering then he said he will horn three times to let me know that he will be coming to the corner to do cornering. And the plan was executed well and I got the shot what I was looking.









And now my head started ticking for the 5 p.m. alarm so I have to act quickly to the next theme. Then I have decided to go M.G. road metro station to do shoot for Urban space / architecture theme. The challenge in the metro station was photography is not allowed and there is no platform ticket to just visit the station SO I have buy a token to travel to the next destination. Then Once I reach the track started shooting the photographs and the security started to warn not to take photograph then without noticing him I just kept and the train arrived and I supposed to board the train but I didn’t. Then the security decided to move out of the platform and also a warning message was announced for me to not take photograph in all the speakers attached in the station and also warned that I will be charged Rs. 200/- fine if I continue to do so. Then I felt it is serious and left the station safely.







And I was left with Food photography, any dominant color. But you know, the moment where, you won’t think but something from mind or what would you say like conscious or unconscious or anything which will lead you to some place to get the right ambiance and mood to get the things you want with the purpose to fill. With no clue I have headed to Majestic road and I was looking for any dominant color to shoot. I got stuck in the traffic and in the walking platform one seller shouted loudly to sell groundnuts. Then I got an Idea. I was having a flickr rides sticker in the pocket and so I request the road side seller to give permission to play with the groundnuts which he had on the floor. Initially he said no and I request him again and said I will give Rs. 20/- and he said OK. Then I have composted the pic and tried with different white balance to get the right color ambiance to the picture. Finally in one angle I got the output and become happy as like a crying child getting a bottle of milk in the needy time.



And the last part is to go for Food photography and again a road side seller who was selling fruits and vegetables got my attention since he has arranged the vegetables s such a way it could give good output in certain angle for the food photography. So, request as the same and got the photographs as I want, I wonder how the people becoming close and helpful all of the sudden on that day? Then I come to know the if you have the purpose to do and if you going for it without any doubt to do then automatically the nature allowing you to get the frequency to mingle with the purpose and its related beings to go easy.



Well after at it was exactly 4:50 p.m. and as planned I supposed to reach the hotel at 5:00 p.m. And yes, reached the place in time and stated doing post processing and the get to gather of all 10 finalists has started and what would be the topic if all are bikers cum photographs. We started to share our experience, moments and photographs to each other and to xBhp & Flickr team as well. After a delicious Dinner we all went back to home for a Sleep.
