Hero MotoCorp has tied up with Magnetti Marelli to help develop systems to make their motorcycles more fuel efficient.

Magnetti Marelli, part of the Fiat Group, have been in talks with Hero MotoCorp since July 2013. News has just come in that the deal between the two companies has materialized. ET has just announced on twitter that the deal has been finalized.
This development will help further improve the profile of its entry level commuter segment, in which Hero has the largest share. The company will use this to keep Honda at bay, as the Japanese manufacturer has been on an expansion spree since splitting with Hero.
Hero had earlier partnered American Manufacturer Eric Buell and Austrian Engine Developer AVL List. All these changes will ensure that Hero is well prepared for the change in Emission Norms for 2015.
Exact details of the partnership are not as yet known and will be updated in due course.
