Hey guys! I'm a newbie to the world of riding, tho not motorcycles itself, having been a companion to my dad on long rides on his Bullet 350. I turned 18 about 8 months back, and since then have been riding a lot, riding quickly becoming one of my greatest hobbies/pastimes.
I so far have only one bike, a 135cc Discover model, which is my main steed and is now being reclaimed by the friend I borrowed it from. I've ridden about 2500kms on this bike alone. I also have experience with my Dads bullet and my friends Benelli TNT 300 model(1200+km on the Bull, about 300 on the TNT). Now that the discover is being taken back, time has come to purchase my own Bike, and hence I come here.
I'm using the posting guidelines from the sticky
1. Budget
Upto 2.5 lakhs finally, max(including all RTO stuff). I already will be getting gear separately, but I already have bought my helmet and have a jacket and gloves.
2. Age
I am currently 18 years old.
3. Height
5'6''
4. Weight
74 KG
5. Intended usage (eg. Office/College commute, Highway runs, Racetrack usage, Weekend recreation riding etc.)
I have a 30KM commute every alternate day, and will have about ten KM of random rides every day. I also will have/intend to have longer, 100km+ runs every other week or so.
6. Fuel Efficiency requirement (approx., if any)
Not a huge issue, but would prefer to have 25-30 kmpl mileage.
7. City & Highway percentage usage
80:20?
8.City / Town /Village of residence (so we can evaluate road conditions / traffic / terrain / altitude / OTR pricing)
Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
9. Brand / Bike type preference (if any)
I don't have a Brand/Bike preference as such, but I would like it to be a nice, reliable machine for at least the next 5 years or so. ABS would be a nice plus.
So far, I have considered the following bikes(I would appreciate other suggestions)
1. KTM Duke 390
2. Honda CBR 250 C-ABS model
3. KTM RC390(not so heavily consdered seeing as I really don't like the faired look of the RC)
4. Pulsar RS200(test drove, did not like)
I went and test drove the RC today, and tried to test drive the Duke but the AMD KTM showroom doesn't have an operational Duke 390 demo. I have not driven the CBR yet. I would like suggestions on what else to try. KTM guy is promising delivery Same day, for the 2016 model.
Thanks a Ton!
