Hi. This trip meant a lot to me so there is a longer prelude than usual:)

Wayanad had been in my mind for years when I used to ride with Chennai xBHPians. But then I got transfered to NCR and had to sell my RTR160 in Chennai having done 20k kms. Worked for an year in Noida, then completed MBA in West Bengal and landed up in Bangalore with a job. Regretted selling my bike almost everyday all those 3 years.

One fine day few months back I got a call from Chennai from the 3rd owner of my bike (I being 1st). He wanted my signatures as he wanted to sell the bike further. Yes the bike was still in my name. I thanked the superpowers who control this universe and asked if he would sell it to me. He agreed. The bike was 4.5 yrs old now and had done 47k kms on the odo. Next weekend I traveled all the way to Chennai to see its condition. Bumpers were scratched as if it had fallen on both sides in various accidents. Felt sorry as if it was my child who I had given up on and had led to this bad condition. But still I had hopes that the engine would be good. I had taken good care in the first 20k kms and had switched to synthetic Motul 300v or Shell Advance after it completed 10k. I was right!

The grunt, pick-up and the thrill came back to me while I rode it on Medavakkam roads :)
Bought the bike, got it washed, got basic repairs done as I intended to ride it back to Bangalore. Bought the helmet from Velachery and was on my way. It was a feeling I didn't expect anyone would know of. It was a feeling which made me ride it from Sriperumbudur to Electronics City without halt. I was happy again :p

From then on, I nursed the bike back. Filled up the synthetic oil, got it thoroughly serviced, changed the rear tyre as the old one had worn out. The bike was good for a ride on the hills! Feeling confident, I knew I had to take it to Wayanad. Told about it to friends at office, they decided to visit in a tempo traveler while I rode on my RTR. Whatsapp group was created in no time... "Christmas in Wayanad!!" :o
