Many auto giants are now looking at Gujarat for setting up their plants. Tyre major MRF has also zeroed in on Gujarat for establishing their greenfield manufacturing plant and they are in advance talks with the state government.

MRF tyres is likely to invest around Rs4,000 crore for their Gujarat plant, which will initially have a production capacity of one million tyres per month. They are currently scouting for a suitable land and might choose Bharuch for its project as per a senior government official.
The tyre major is seeking for 400 hactares of land and is likely to opt for Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) land rather than acquiring private land.
MRF tyres is also investing Rs4,500 crore to expand its production capacity in Tamil Nadu, where the company has three tyre manufacturing plants. At present they have a manufacturing capacity of 1.2 lakh tyres per day across its eight plants in TN Andhra, Telangana and Kerala.
