Hornet or Gixxer

This is kind of my first thread here . I usually dont ask questions like this but I am so confused right now that I had to write this.

I need a bike for my weekend commute very badly and I have shortlisted 2 bikes ie Hornet and Gixxer But the problem is that I am not able to choose between these two Gixxer and Hornet.


1. Age-24
2. Height-166 cm
3. Weight-67
4. Intended usage -Regular commute to office 3 km per day (Yes I live near my office :P ) and at least 50 km per day on weekends
5. Fuel Efficiency requirement (approx., if any) - I guess both give around 45 and I am happy with that.
6. City & Highway percentage usage - City 40% and highway 60%
7. City / Town /Village of residence- Bangalore E-City

Thing is I like the styling of Hornet and also it makes more amount of power and torque and has tall gearing so it will be easy to drive on the highway. But it is around 7-10k heavier on my pocket ( I am talking about the CBS version , I like rear disk whether it is useful or not ) , has lousy switches and has AC lights .

On the other hand Gixxer is a little less on power , but is good in handling department ,has beefier front forks and has good switches and DC lights. But i guess it will feel a little strained compared to Hornet in high speeds. Also it does not have a rear disk variant till now and I cannot wait till they release the rear disk variant.

I am only able to think this much as of now . I will add more if I come up with something.
