To keep the emerging markets happy, Benelli has included the BN 251 in their 2016 lineup. The Benelli BN251 was first showcased in EICMA 2014 and they say it will be launched in the first half of 2016. The BN251 is a 250 cc naked lightweight motorcycle, which is styled like its elder siblings like the TNT300. The bike promises to offer "excellent" fuel economy, agile performance, and an easy to ride character.

The BN251 will be powered by a liquid cooled, single cylinder, 4-stroke DOHC 250 cc Benelli engine that will produce 25 BHP at 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 21.5 Nm at 7500 rpm mark. The steel trestle frame incorporates the engine as a stress member further adding to the rigidity of the chassis. The suspension job will be taken care of by a 41 mm USD at the front and a single swingarm mounted shock absorber at the rear.

The Benelli BN251 will also have a 280 mm disc at the front with a 4 piston caliper and at the rear a ø 240 mm single disc with a double piston caliper to take care of the braking department. And like we said it will be launched in the first half of next year in white, red and
black colors.

As the DSK-Benelli boss Shirish Kulkarni has himself confirmed that this bike will be coming to India, we wouldn't have to wait for very long to see it in our neighborhood DSK-Benelli showroom. Here it will compete head to head with the Duke 200. Hard to say whether or not it will be able to generate the numbers the Duke has, but DSK-Benelli will definitely price it very aggressively as this is a single cylinder bike and DSK-Benelli wouldn't find it hard to keep the costs down, but the Indian customer will definitely be a winner in this fight as he will have more options to choose from.
