Peace amidst the concrete jungle

Hinjewadi IT Park, Pune. A concrete jungle set amidst nature. Two decades back this area was all mountains and villages. Suddenly the IT boom started and now we have hundreds of companies setting up world class infrastructure here. Still, if you look hard, there are some places very close by which are not yet disturbed.

Kasarsai Dam. A relatively small, unnoticed dam just 5kms from Phase-1. This won’t be a long travelogue as the drive is hardly 20 min from my office. So, it’s a Saturday I am bored shit of sitting in home, don’t want to travel long as it was almost sunset. A quick search on Google and I found this place. So, why the hell not. 20 min later I was at the dam.

Kasarsai dam is very secluded and most people don’t know about it. You can literally drive down to the dam and park in the water!!!! No one is there to stop you, just be a little careful. The road from the top of the dam is very bad and a long stretch of kuucha road awaits you. If you keep going on the road you will end up at pawna lake. A shortcut if you say so, but then again this road is made for motocross bike:D
