Mahindra plans to introduce Peugeot Scooter in North Africa and Veitnam. The home grown auto major is planning to expand its international brand presence beyond Europe by entering North Africa and Vietnam.

The company has no plans to introduce their Peugeot Scooters range in India at present. But, may do so if managed to bring down the production cost.
Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra & Mahindra said:
"We are working to expand the market of Peugeot scooters, which until now has been in Europe. We are looking at markets in North Africa and right now we're focusing on Vietnam".
Commenting on the Indian launch, he said:
"We have to bring down the cost if we have to launch Peugeot scooters in India. As we said at the time of acquisition, the aim was to expand Peugeot and not to primarily sell its products in India."
He further added:
It may take at least a year before Peugeot products could make their way to India.
Peugeot Motorcycles is a part of France based 54 billion Euro worth PSA Group. Earlier this year in January Mahindra acquired 51% stake in Peugeot Motorcycles.
