To celebrate its commitment in what is unanimously regarded as the most famous road racing competition in the world, and to pay homage to one of the most famous and unique riders in the sport, METZELER has created a special edition of the last product launched on the market, RACETEC RR: thus the RACETEC RR Guy Martin Special
Edition.
RACETEC RR Guy Martin Special Edition celebrates the courage and the passion of a true biking icon with a set of tyres, developed and manufactured in the same specification entrusted by Guy Martin to carry him during the most daring of real road races. The special edition of Guy Martin's RACETEC RR is available in 120/70 ZR17 (58W) front and 180/55 ZR17 (73W) and 190/55 ZR17 (75W) rear sizes. In particular, the compounds of these tyres are the most extreme racing oriented compounds on a street legal tyre for these sizes.
RACETEC RR Guy Martin Special Edition was born and has been forged with the British rider on the tarmac of the fastest and most prestigious road races such as the
Tourist Trophy, North West 200, Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix and Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. All fans can follow the story and the development of this product told in first

Compared to the standard version of the RACETEC RR, this special edition is different also in the appearance: the name of the rider from Kirmington is present on the sidewall of the tyres and the legendary symbol with Guy Martins Skull and Spanners is engraved multiple times on the tread pattern, clearly identifying its pedigree as the tyre that Guy rides on.
RACETEC RR is the evolution of RACETEC INTERACT, produced in line with the development of new bikes, and comes directly from the experience of METZELER in Road
Racing competition in which the brand of the elephant has been participating with good results for many years. In 2014, riders supported by METZELER stood on the podium 39 times with 16 wins in the major road races. With substantial efforts in these activities, METZELER was able to completely renew its sporty range of tyres and, during 2013,
developed and launched SPORTEC M7 RR and now, exactly one year later, has completed this renovation project with the new Racing Supersport RACETEC RR.
In particular, RACETEC RR has been designed and tested in major competitions such as the North West 200, Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix, Southern 100 and especially the
Isle of Man TT, where it won the Supersport class by equipping the Triumph Daytona of Gary Johnson. These races do not take place on track, but on roads that are open to the public throughout the year and in which you can find all the situations that riders encounter in everyday riding. For this reason these events were chosen by METZELER as a test and development ground.
RACETEC RR is dedicated to racers of all levels plus trackday riders who use the circuit for their hobby. In the K3 compound option specifically, the RACETEC RR is designed for all owners of supersport and naked bikes who enjoy a sporty riding style and who want the ultimate grip even on the road, looking for excitement and a high performance level. More than fifteen riders have chosen METZELER tyres this year to race in the various road competitions on the calendar. These include, Guy Martin, William Dunlop, Alistair Seeley, Martin Jessop, Ian Hutchinson, Gary Johnson, Dean Harrison, Ivan Lintin, James Hillier, Michael Rutter, Glenn Irwin and Ben Wilson.
For the various road racing rounds METZELER will also be collaborating in 2015 with many of the major motorcycle manufacturers including BMW, Yamaha, Suzuki, Triumph,
Kawasaki and MV Agusta. The presence of METZELER at the Isle of Man TT is part of the history of the brand. Only last year METZELER riders took eight podiums.
