Have been looking for a visor for my Naked Pulsar 200 NS for some time now...The ones available are quite expensive so decided to do some jugaad and \"make\" one myself. I closed on the Fazer visor as it (IMHO) gels better than other visors from sports bikes with the NS\' headlamp. I purchased it from a spare parts shop in Grant Road for 270/-. Other visors you could try experimenting with that may look good on the NS are the Honda CBR 250 and the Yamaha R15 visors although the Fazer one is the tallest. The metal strips used to fix it to the bike (L shaped aluminum strips), nuts and bolts and black spray paint can available at any hardware store.
Below are the cost of the Yamaha Fazer visor & other stuff used to fix it. Flattened the \"L\" shaped aluminum strips, got it screwed to the bolts on the bracket below the black stock \"visor\". Bent the strips to come out of the little gap that\\\'s between the headlight and stock visor and screwed the strip to the visor. Realized that it would probably break at high speeds without additional support due to the wind so added another aluminum strip on either side to the visor and screwed it below the Allen bolts on the sides of the instrument console. Spray painted the silver strips over with black paint. Spray painted over the silver brackets with black paint and it looks a lil better now.
Expenses:
Yamaha Fazer visor = 270/-
Nuts, bolts + Aluminum L shaped strips for support = 60/-
Labour = 150/-
Tip = 10/-
Spray = 190/-
Total Expenses = 680/-
Was supposed to remove the visor once I returned from my recent trip to Malwan but realized it helps deflect the cold winds in the mornings when returning from work recently. While riding home a couple of days ago at about 6 in the morning, there was a real chill in the breeze. Although I was wearing a jacket, helmet & gloves, was still feeling quite cold. Hugged the tank more closely and crouched below the visor...made a huge difference. Was immediately more comfortable and thanked the visor for helping make the small ride a little better.
A couple of friends feel that the bike looks better with the visor while a few have yelled at me for \"spoiling the naked looks\\\" of the bike.
I personally feel it adds to the aggressive looks of the NS...and more importantly is functional
Am on the look out for a little bigger visor that gels well with the bike\'s looks and that adds a little more protection against wind blasts...Crossing my fingers
I know this isn\'t the best solution as there are MRA windscreens available for naked sports bikes but with them starting at about 8000/- the Fazer visor along with the little bits to fix it at below 1k is way cheaper. :)
