Starting off with one rider(Prasad Gawde) less, Myself and Ashwin reached Panvel, where we joined Pratik and Sundeep. Then we met Hemant at Chowk Village intersection and we continued till Lonavla. As usual, the road was filled with the superbikes.. Not to forget the Triumph (Bonneville and Tiger), Kawasaki (Z1000) and Honda CBRs. While Sundeep was taking photos with the new Hero GoPro Adventure camera that Pratik had brought, we reached Lonavla and had our breakfast. Then we continued towards Aamby Valley and we took a detour through the off-road of Kurvande-Pimpri(Not to be confused with Pinpri-Chinchwad). It was an amazing off-road filled with mist and riding through the shades, we never felt that the Sun was present. While we are about to change our routes to Tikona Peth, we had a surprise meet with Shrikant who was there at Mulshi at the same time (Ultimate Conicidence) and we took a different route to reach an amazing pond(pool) somewhere in Tamhini Ghat.
It was totally worth the trip. By the time we were enjoying our stay in the pool, we realized that we were running out of time and I was running out of fuel. We reached Paud, where we fueled the bikes. While talking to the villagers over there, we come to know that the road towards Tikona-Lonavla is highly damaged due to rains. Keeping in fact that our backs(spine) are already destroyed due to severe off-roading(of 150+ kms), we decided to go towards Wakad-Pimpri-Chinchwad to catch the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway. We had a break somewhere near the Old highway and had Tea(it was 7pm already). We reached Lonavla at around 8.30pm, where our pillions decided to go by cab, since they could not take the beating anymore sitting behind us. They have no idea on what we have been through the entire day. Hemant and I were suffering from wrist pain and I have to take a break often to massage my wrist to continue my ride.
While halting at Lonavla before sending off our pillions, some drunk a$$hole just rammed Hemant's bike and he lost his mirror as well as the foot rest. We did check few garages over there to fix the Footrest, where they refused to fix the bike, since it was 9PM and it is time for them to booze(F***ing Crap). Since we could not fix the foot rest, we continued the ride towards Mumbai. Hats off to Hemant who had managed to ride without foot rest for about 40 kms on bad roads. Again we stopped at Chowk village to send off Hemant and then we continued our ride towards Mumbai. By the time we reached home, it was already 1AM.
Eventhough we were tired due to 16 hours of riding (excludes 3 hours of break that we took in between), it was an amazing ride with some memorable events. This album contains photographs shot from different camera/gadgets. Pratik's GoPro was the major attraction of this trip, as it gave amazing results after post-processing the pics that we took.
