BMW says that the effected motorcycles were manufactured in the period between 1st June 2012 to 18th October 2012. According to BMW the side stand switch which shuts off the engine when on the side stand in gear might malfunction. A damaged switch might let the engine run, even with the side stand down, which might cause a crash.
The recall is expected to begin in August. Owners will be contacted by BMW itself.
