Hi,
I own two RX135s a 5Speed and a 4Speed. I would like to restore both of them to stock.
I have acquired most of the parts needed for restoration, however am in need of sound advice on the process as i wish to DIY as i don't trust any mechanics in Bengaluru and morever iam on a budget.
Here are a list of queries on the 4Speed:
I have recently bought a rx135 4 and 5 speed and am in the process of restoring it to stock, however I'm stuck with a few hassles, to name a few:
The rx100s robust carrier which I intend to plonk in to the 5 speed is no longer available here in Bengaluru. I have searched all shivajinagar scrapyards but to no avail.
The oil pump is leaking despite me changing the oil seals. Even a competent mech was not able to fix this for me.
The seat assembly, I have a an alternate 135 seat assembly(5spd), it's not the oem one. I want to know if the one I have can be remade to oem, as YASS has stopped manufacture of it. Can send u a pic if needed.
The catalytic silencer is giving a very loud crackly note, not sure if that's normal, though it's very catchy and nice, can send u a video or clip if that can help.
The front suspension assembly is very high, not sure if the previous owner had pushed in spacers.
The clutch cover, magnet cover, crank case, hubs and forks are crudely sprayed powder black by the previous owner, had a tough time removing them with paint remover, is their a DIY to solve this?
How do I remove the right throttle and left handle gripper as they are as hard as the handlebar itself? I intend to remove it as it is of shogun and plonk in the oem one which I picked up.
The cylinder and piston kit is only available in I- 1 and not the famed E1 at YASS outlets that to at a insane price of 8.5k and with crude finishes. Will this be my best buy are are there better options? I heard grit filing them by hand on all ports will help.
I'm currently on I series and my mech says it needs reboring.
The butterfly crash guard(rx100)is available at a YASS outlet, however not sure if they are the ones as is similar to crux.
The carb packing is not available any more just like the 135 tank and cat con exhaust, hence very carefully cleaned my carb and the tank, got it repainted and lacquered for 2k. Was the cost of repainting insane? as it was jus mildly dented.
Looking forward to your help on this forum.
Thanking you in advance.
