Prologue
I had wanted to meet my friend Inder who stays in Indore for a very long time but had never mustered the will to make the trip. All this changed when this meant doing the journey on my bike.
Day 1 March 4
I began my ride at 6:00am from Pune with the weather cold and the air crisp. I had decided to take the Nasik Phata route to Nasik and then Indore. As I began my ride early in the morning I did not encounter any traffic till Chakan but the quality of the road wasnt good. Nevertheless, I reached Nasik at 10:00am after clocking around 210km and then proceeded to negotiate the busy city to reach the AH47 or NH3 (Mumbai Agra Highway).
The AH47 is a good highway though there speed breakers which if one is not alert can spring up on you. The weather was overcast and pleasant so my fatigue factor was well in check.
About 2 weeks previously I had done a ride to Ooty and on my return I was looking to get a body massage but to no avail. At one of the many roadside dhabbas where I had made a pit stop I was sipping some tea and vada when a chap saunters up to me asking if I wanted a massage. At first being a little skeptical I told him to begin with a head massage and we would see how things went along. In a short while the masseur had given me a body massage and I felt like a new born baby. All this for the princely sum of Rs.100/-.
